Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to transforming the education sector and promoting sports development, Tropical Bank Limited proudly sponsored Kibuli SS Sports team to participate in the 22nd Edition of the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games 2025 that were held in Kenya between 12th and 23rd August 2025. The school’s athletes excelled and scooped out awards for winning Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, and Football (FUFA Cup), among others.
In recognition of the outstanding performance of the FEASSA Games winners, the Bank sponsored the Annual Sports Dinner organized by Kibuli Secondary School on September 28, 2025. The event was graced by the Bank’s Executive Director, Hajat Joweria Mukalazi, who served as Guest of Honor. She presented the winning team with a cash prize of UGX 1,500,000 and delivered words of encouragement and inspiration. On behalf of the Managing Director, Al-Haj AbdulAziz M.A. Mansur, she also extended heartfelt congratulations to the team for their remarkable achievement.
During the event, Hajat Joweria discussed with the School Management led by the Headteacher (Hajji Ssemakadde Ibrahim) the initiatives to enhance academic excellence, nurture talent, and foster innovation within the school community. She also reassured the school of the bank’s commitment to supporting upcoming development projects through tailored financial facilities.
Adding to the excitement, Hajat Joweria Mukalazi announced groundbreaking news that Tropical Bank Limited has officially received an Islamic Banking license from the Bank of Uganda, authorizing the Bank to offer Islamic Banking in Uganda. She further noted that final preparations are underway to commence full operations, enabling the Bank to provide a comprehensive range of Shari’ah-compliant products and services to the public.
“Obtaining the Islamic Banking license from Bank of Uganda is a milestone that reaffirms Tropical Bank’s vision of providing inclusive financial solutions tailored to the diverse needs of our customers, particularly those seeking Shariah-compliant banking,” said Hajat Joweria Mukalazi.
