Hajjat Joweria Mukalazi is a seasoned legal and banking professional with over 18 years of experience spanning legal advisory, credit management, and corporate governance. She currently serves as Executive Director at Tropical Bank Limited, a position she has held since 2020, following impactful leadership roles as Head of Recovery and Credit Control (2017–2020) and Manager, Legal Services (2015–2017). Earlier in her career, she held legal and governance roles at Equity Bank Uganda and served as Company Secretary for Rafiki Group of Companies.
Hajjat Joweria holds an MBA from the University of East London, a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, complemented by a Financial Inclusion certification from the World Bank Group. Her legal foundation was built through work with JN Kirland & Associates, Makeera & Co. Advocates, and volunteering at the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative.
